Northwest RiverPartners is a partnership of farmers, electric utilities and large and small businesses in the Pacific Northwest, joined together to ensure that the Columbia and Snake rivers remain living, working rivers. Northwest RiverPartners promotes all of the benefits of the rivers: fish and wildlife, renewable hydropower, agriculture, flood control, commerce and recreation. And we believe that limited resources require salmon recovery efforts to be cost effective, based in the best science and that responsible policies will lead to increased salmon runs and increased economic opportunity for the entire region.
Organization
A Board of Directors made up of Northwest RiverPartners
members provides policy direction to Executive Director Terry
Flores who oversees activities and operations of the
organization. To maximize its effectiveness, NWRP relies extensively
on the staff of member organizations to accomplish its goals.
Much of NWRP's work is conducted through committees established
for public outreach/education, government relations, and
technical and legal services. Funds to carry out the work
of the organization are collected annually from the membership.
