Get ready for August 23rd!
SAVE THE DATE! National Hydropower Day kicks off early in the Northwest on Friday, August 23rd, and this year is all about sharing how “hydro powers” you. Here in our region, we produce the most hydropower of anywhere in the Nation, and that comes with incredible benefits for all. We have a lot to celebrate, and a great opportunity to do so.
Whether you’re already gearing up for a big social push or you’re just learning about National Hydropower Day, we’ve prepared some great resources to help you nail it! Below, you’ll find access to the official toolkit from the National Hydropower Association, additional Northwest-specific materials prepared by Northwest RiverPartners, and recommendations to take your posts to the next level.
Recommendations
Personalize – Let your audience know how “hydro powers” you with facts and examples tailored to your organization. NHA suggests themes such as cleaner communities, local job creation, grid reliability, and energy solutions. Examples that could tie into these include extreme weather events, energy affordability, economic opportunities, and new energy projects that hydropower supports in one way or another.
Tag – To help shine an even brighter light on the benefits of hydropower, we’re recommending those who can tag elected officials in their region as part of their post. This is an opportunity to educate, celebrate, and show strong support for the Northwest’s most important energy resource.
