Northwest RiverPartners names Austin Rohr deputy executive director
Vancouver, Washington–November 18, 2024–Northwest RiverPartners has selected Austin Rohr as its first deputy executive director. Rohr has been with Northwest RiverPartners since May 2019, serving as the media and communications manager.
“Austin earned this critical leadership position through his hard work, compelling vision for serving our members, and track record of creative innovation,” said Clark Mather, executive director of Northwest RiverPartners. “Austin’s passion for our essential hydropower system and commitment to our members will continue to serve the millions of people we represent very well.”
During his time at Northwest RiverPartners, Rohr has led efforts to expand the organization’s digital footprint with the launch of its social media channels and oversight of the successful digital ad campaign, Our Power is Water. He is also the creator, producer, editor, and host of Dam!, the official podcast of Northwest hydropower.
“Our work at Northwest RiverPartners remains critical to ensuring the communities we represent have access to affordable, clean, reliable hydropower. I believe strongly in our mission, and I’m excited about this new chapter with the organization,” said Rohr. “I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and explore new ways to support our work and meet the needs of our members.”
Prior to Northwest RiverPartners, Rohr spent two years as the managing editor at TransWorld Motocross. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from the University of Washington and is a current board member of the Foundation for Water and Energy Education.
